IDCAST Board of Advisors Names Larrell Walters Director

The IDCAST Board of Advisors voted unanimously to name Larrell Walters the first Director of IDCAST.  Walters was instrumental during the proposal generation and evaluation stages of the proposal.  "We have the right person for the job!" said Anne Chasser, associate vice president, intellectual property, University of Cincinnati.  "Larrell has the vision and commercialization experience that IDCAST needs to make it happen."

Prior to becoming director of IDCAST, Walters was the Director of Technology Partnership for the University of Dayton.  In this position he was responsible for the administering the University’s Intellectual Property Policy, including efforts to commercialize technology.  Immediately prior to coming to the University, Walters spent over 20 years in technology-oriented companies in a variety of responsibilities including engineering, sales, operations, and executive management.  Walters has served in the commercial aerospace, microelectronics, electronics, and manufacturing automation industries. His most recent positions prior to joining the University of Dayton were as Vice President of Product Development for EMTEC, President of Gem City Engineering, President of Lytton Electronics, and senior management positions at Goodrich, and Goodyear Aerospace.  Walters holds board positions at the Advanced Integrated Manufacturing Center at Sinclair Community College and the Entrepreneur Center Advisory Board, all of Dayton, Ohio.  He also served on the boards of the Tool Valley Network and Habitat for Humanity in Miami County.  Walters received an MBA from Kent State University and an undergraduate degree in computer science from Bowling Green State University.

IDCAST is the Institute for the Development and Commercialization of Advanced Sensor Technology.  It was established as a Wright Center of Innovation by a $28 million award by the State of Ohio.  With a focus on collaborative research and commercialization, academia, industry, and federal laboratories come together under the IDCAST framework to develop game-changing remote sensor and CBRNE sensor technologies.  For more information email Larrell.Walters@IDCAST.com
